Evolution of Primordial Magnetic Fields during Large-scale Structure Formation

Primordial magnetic fields could explain the large-scale present in Universe. Inflation and phase transitions early Universe give rise to such with unique characteristics. We investigate magneto-hydrodynamic evolution of these magnetogenesis scenarios cosmological simulations. evolve inflation-generated either as (i) uniform (homogeneous) or (ii) scale-invariant stochastic fields, transition-generated ones (iii) helical (iv) non-helical from radiation-dominated epoch. find that final distribution simulated cosmic web shows a dependence on initial strength topology seed field. Thus, observed field configuration retains information conditions at moment generation. If detected, primordial observations would open new window for indirect probes universe. The differences between competing models are revealed scale galaxy clusters, bridges, well filaments voids. distinctive spectral different produces imprints correlation length today. discuss how rotation measures highly ionized regions can potentially be probed forthcoming surveys.
